Services
Dr. Lynd provides psychiatric care to children, teenagers, and adults who struggle with a wide range of psychiatric symptoms. She provides medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both, based on each patient’s unique needs. Due to limited availability, she is unable to provide psychotherapy to children at this time and has very limited availability for new patients.
Initial Evaluation
The comprehensive initial evaluation is an opportunity for Dr. Lynd to gather important information, including a psychiatric, medical, developmental, and social history. If Dr. Lynd’s practice feels like a good fit to both parties, a treatment plan will be created to meet each patient’s needs.
Psychotherapy
Dr. Lynd has limited availability to provide psychotherapy (also known as “talk therapy”) to teenagers and adults. Her therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in psychodynamic principles and the exploration of how past experiences inform current behavior, with the goal of facilitating personal growth, understanding, and healing. Dr. Lynd also integrates principles from supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapies (TF-CBT and CPT) based on each patient’s symptoms.
Medication Management
Dr. Lynd thoughtfully prescribes medication to treat a wide range of psychiatric symptoms. She practices evidence-based medicine, while also considering the distinct symptoms and individual characteristics of each patient. She understands that, for some patients, the decision to start medication can induce anxiety, and she closely collaborates with patients to create a treatment plan that aligns with their values and goals.
Child/Adolescent Patients
Two 60-minute initial evaluation appointments, which includes time meeting with parents/guardians.
Adult Patients
One 90-minute initial evaluation appointment.
Dr. Lynd will involve any additional supports (such as spouses, parents, etc.) in treatment based on each patient’s preference.
Follow-Up Appointments
At the start of treatment, follow-up appointments are scheduled every 1-4 weeks based on the patient’s symptoms and treatment plan. Follow-up appointments range from 25-50 minutes. Appointments are spaced out gradually as symptoms stabilize.
